Camouflage Nets
Shortly after the war in Ukraine started, we noticed that museum colleagues in Lviv had started to make camouflage netting to disguise statues around the city and this developed into a great need throughout the country not only for covering precious history but also to protect the living, their transport and supplies.
As we by now also provided scrubs to field hospitals it was a logical progression to also send camouflage nets to protect their equipment and spurred on by the fact that we had quantities of 100% white cotton sheets that were not useful for scrubs that we could dye up, and several rolls of brown and beige cloth too.
Making camouflage netting also most productively provides a great task for those who don’t sew. We have also organised a number of corporate camouflage net days for companies to participate in, which have been very successful.
A video showing a new way of making there is here.
