Our Work in Ukraine

Our work in Ukraine combines practical humanitarian aid, long-term partnership building and direct engagement with trusted institutions on the ground. What began as sending essential supplies has developed into sustained relationships with civic, educational and medical partners.

We work alongside established UK convoy partners to ensure vehicles are filled with carefully sorted humanitarian aid, including medical equipment, clothing, uniforms and essential supplies. In addition, we raise funds to purchase and equip ambulances and specialist vehicles, helping replace those lost in conflict and supporting frontline medical evacuation and hospital transport.

In Ukraine, we have engaged with regional and local government representatives to ensure aid is directed where it is most urgently required. By working collaboratively and transparently, we help match donations from our community with verified need on the ground.

Education is a key strand of our involvement. Through the twinning of Oasis Academy Putney with School 73 in Lviv, we have fostered an ongoing relationship between young people in the UK and Ukraine, encouraging solidarity, cultural and educational exchange and practical support. We hosted 6 Ukrainian children and two of their teachers on a 10 day trip to London for some respite from the conflict. We have also worked with the Ukrainian Catholic University Volunteer Corps, supporting their student-led humanitarian efforts and strengthening links between young volunteers across borders.

In the medical sphere, we have supported institutions including St Nicholas Children’s Hospital and the UNBROKEN rehabilitation centre in Lviv, which provides treatment and prosthetic rehabilitation for adults and children affected by war injuries. Our contributions, whether in the form of medical and rehabilitation equipment and supplies, garments, or funded vehicles, are directed to support their vital work with patients and displaced families.

Across all of this, our approach remains consistent: collect carefully, sort responsibly, deliver directly and build relationships that endure. Through partnership with government bodies, hospitals, universities and schools, we aim not only to send aid, but to create sustained, person-to-person connections rooted in trust, respect and shared purpose.
